In "Health Center 4" The Department of Visual Diagnostics is fully digitalized. Its work is organized by radiology information system (RIS). Images (dg) of visual diagnostics can be transmitted within frames of local network and stored in external information carrier (CD, DVD and other formats) in "Dicom-3" format, which is recognizable at any medical institution in the world, where modern digital equipments are applied. These pictures of visual diagnostics are of good quality and can be printed out in different sizes and types – on a photography paper or film, combining different examinations of picture diagnostics on one laser printer printout. Furthermore, all previously performed examinations of visual diagnostics are stored in the system of centralized data archiving and communication (PACS) for a long term.

Particularly wide range of opportunities to the patient is offered by the Clinic of Esthetic Dermatology. Here traditional methods of examination are available along with several unique methods metodes, which are available only in "Health Center 4" in Latvia.

Ultrasonography (US) of skin gives the opportunity to examine skin and follow its changes as well as evaluate the condition of various new skin growths. It has become easier to diagnose skin diseases that are related with disorders of fiber structure of skin collagene (skin elasticity, wrinkles, cellulite, etc.) by applying skin US. This method is used worldwide for a long time already in order to make sure that the cosmetics applied really have the desirable effect.

Siascopy is a particularly valuable method of examination when it is important to determine the activity of flat skin growths up to depth of 4 mm. This method is equivalent to histological examination of skin, in which tissue parts are “tested”.

In "Health Center 4" Center Of Phlebology is established, and it is the only center of such kind in the Baltic states, in which full-scale diagnostics of veins and treatment is available. Here the most updated methods and their combinations are practiced, and individual program of rehabilitation is developed for each patient. It has got day hospital and operation halls with modern equipment, one of them being specially designed for performance of vein endoluminal laser operations. In the Baltic states this kind of operation is available only in “Health Center 4”, and it is considered as one of the most progressive kind of operation in case of vein varicosity.

"Health Center 4" is the only place in Latvia, where thermocoagulation is available. It is carried out by certified and professional doctors. Mostly it is applied for cosmetologic purpose or in the post-operational period as the concluding procedure.

Contrary to the scope of esthetic service offers, which predominate in Latvia, the subsidiary branch of "Health Center 4" - WELLSLIM CENTER offers a complex and wholesome solution of all esthetic problems of the body based on esthetic problem data which are achieved by individual diagnosis. The plan of this WELLSLIM System therapy consists of more than ten printouts, which ensure medicinally accurate data of diagnostics, the current and desirable result for each particular problem of the body, the maintenance program for the desirable result – an individually created plan of procedures, which is supplemented with recommendations on daily activities at home, physical load and proper food by keeping daily routine and habitual life-style unchanged.

WELLSLIM CENTER was opened as the only center of esthetic medicine in the Baltic states, whose work is based on body diagnostics of „CERRI” WELLSLIM System and application of apparatus technologies in esthetic medicine, and currently other centers of esthetic medicine of such kind are created on the grounds of conception of this center.

Every day „Health Center 4” serves 3000 patients and provides them with the highest technological level. In the Office of Diagnostics digital x-ray and mammography equipments and multi-slice datortomography equipments as well as various medium and upper-class ultrasonographic (US) equipments are applied, including 4 D equipments, which are appropriate for the performance of various examinations and storage of all information in electronic memory. Modern DEXA (dual energy X-ray absorptiometry) is also available, which is an accurate diagnostics for the statement of bone for spinal vertebrae, loins and joints. Thanks to a special program, ultrasound osteodensitometry can be applied for children strarting from 4 years.

Modern laboratory is at the disposal of the center, where the data of patient examinations are stored in a modern laboratory information system (LIS).

The working places of specialists are equipped with computers that are switched to a centralized data archiving system. It means that they can receive data from other structural units (results of radiologic, laboratorical and other examinations). Office of diagnostics, as well as treatment and rehabilitation structures, are provided with a functional and professional medicine equipment, for example, vertical desks for performance of vein DUPLEX US, Terapi Master equipment in work places of physiotherapists, which ensures the whole rehabilitation complex in one room.

Structural units of narrow specialities also work in „Health Center 4”, for example, cabinets of trichology (hair problems) and spinal problems. Laboratory of diagnostics for sleep disorders is established in „Health Center 4”. It is done in collaboration with Dainis Irbe - doctor of Latvian origin, who does his fieldwork in the USA and is the current Managing Director of Eugene Sleep Disorders Center (USA) and Research Associate of sleep laboratory.

In May 2007 “Health Center 4” will put into operation a modern equipment of 1.5 T magnetic resonance in premises of The Hospital of Traumatology and Orthopaedics on grounds of state and private partnership principles. This equipment will ensure high-quality diagnostics for the patients of “Health Center 4” and The Hospital of Traumatology and Orthopaedics.

"Health Center 4" collaborates with all health insurance companies of Latvia and Health Compulsory Insurance State Agency (HCISA). Patients from medical institutions of all regions of Latvia are received with family doctor’s order.
