Pilates
 

The system of gymnastics is created by Joseph Pilates and it is based on:

  • Concentrating on each exercise (silent and calm music is played during the classes);
  • Chesty breathing (the rhythm of breathing is attuned to the rhythm of movements);
  • Control of “Center“ (in this case “center” means the segment of body between the lower ribs and pelvis);
  • Precision (the instructor carefully explains the essence of excercises, start positions, etc., that must be performed precisely);
  • Isolation of movements and regime;
  • Continuity of movements (there are no interruptions between exercises, they flowingly pass over into new ones).

In classes of Pilates elements of yoga, thai-chi and classic stretching are applied. For each exercise there are different levels of difficulty, therefore beginners can perform them as well. The number of exercise repetitions everybody can choose according to his/her physical preparedness.
Due to the relaxing and harmonizing effect on psyche, pilates classes are recommendable after a hard and stressful working day.

Classes of pilates are highly advisable for:

  • people with sitting or standing work specifics;
  • in cases of problems with back and posture defects.

Combined excersises of strength – flexibility and stretching elements:

  • Improves posture;
  • Develops  musculature;
  • Trains the sense of balance;
  • Relieves spine;
  • Calms and relaxes the mind.
